Witches' Sabbath

Witches' Sabbath is an image created by Nigel Wingrove in 2024 as part of an ongoing exploration of paganism, witchcraft, and imagined ritual.

Three mysterious female figures gather around a fire deep within a dark forest, their ragged, organic clothing seeming almost to merge with the surrounding woodland. Rendered in stark black and white, the image evokes folk horror, ancient ceremony and the unsettling atmosphere of early cinematic representations of witchcraft.
