Fair-Haired Female Vampire in the Catacombs is an image created by Nigel Wingrove in 2024 as part of an ongoing series imagining a hidden community of female vampires and their children living deep within the ancient catacombs beneath Paris.

Presented in stark black and white, the image depicts a solitary fair-haired female vampire seated among ancient coffins and the scattered remains of the dead. Her pale, almost spectral presence emerges from the surrounding darkness, while her long hair and decaying robes seem to merge with the dust and ruins of the subterranean burial chamber.

The image forms part of the wider In Death We Are in Life series, an imagined visual history of this secret subterranean world.

Each print is produced on premium 230gsm matt art paper with a 3mm white border and is supplied unframed.
