Martyred Bunnies is a series by Nigel Wingrove that collides the visual language of the Playboy Bunny with the devotional imagery of religious icons and martyred saints.

Presented against a distressed, gold mosaic-like halo, the Bunny becomes an object of contemplation rather than simply glamour — poised somewhere between the sacred and the profane, desire and devotion, contemporary popular culture and centuries-old religious art.

Each image in the series presents a different Bunny and colour, while retaining the aged, cracked, and time-worn surface of a rediscovered devotional painting.

Each print is produced on premium 230gsm matt art paper with a 3mm white border and is supplied unframed.
