Snow Witch - Night

Snow Witch – Night is an image created by Nigel Wingrove in 2024 as part of an ongoing exploration of paganism, witchcraft, and imagined ritual.

A solitary witch stands in a snow-covered forest at night, dressed in tangled organic garments and crowned with a wild headdress of bare branches. Emerging from the darkness against the pale winter landscape, the figure has the spectral quality of an apparition. Rendered in stark black and white, the image draws upon European folklore, folk horror and early cinematic representations of witchcraft, creating an atmosphere that is both mysterious and unsettling.
